山下喜和子

会計の山下喜和子です。祖母の兄が木曜島で明治33年、
21歳で亡くなりました。それ以来、百余年、島の人たちに供養して頂いております。そして昨年念願だった大伯父のお墓参りが出来、感激しました。趣味は夫婦で四季折々の野菜作りです。
My grandmother’s older brother passed away in 1900 at the age of 21 on Thursday Island. Ever since, for over 100 years, the people on the island have kindly been looking after his grave. For a long time, I’d wanted to offer prayers for my great-uncle. My dream came true in 2024. I visited the Japanese cemetery on Thursday Island. I was very impressed. My hobby is growing seasonal vegetables with my husband.
副会長の吉村聡一郎です。曾祖父が単身ブルームに渡り、一族の危機を救ってくれた話を聞いておりましたので、当会に関わらせて頂いております。
微力ですがこの大任を絶たす所存です。何卒、よろしくお願い致します。
I’m one of the two vice-presidents of the ASG. I’ve heard that my great-grandfather had gone to Broome alone to save our family. That’s how I’ve got involved in the Arafura Sea Group. I’ll do my very best for the ASG. Thank you.

副会長の戸瀬憲一です。祖父が、木曜島にダイバーとして渡り、一族の生活を支えがんばりました。私もダイバーとして30年以上マグロ養殖の仕事で近大水研で働いていました。今もプライベートで潜っています。
I’m one of the two vice-presidents of the ASG. My grandfather went to Thursday Island in order to support our family. I myself am a diver. I worked at the Aquaculture Research Institute of Kindai University for over 30 years as a diver, engaged in tuna farming. I still dive.
